I'm a pessimist by nature. The way I look at it is, when something good happens I'll be extra excited because it wasn't expected. You can never be disappointed if you aren't expecting things to happen.
The last house update I gave had us closing today. Yesterday it changed to noon on Thursday. Two hours ago that changed to "um.....we can't even ballpark it." Uh, you're kidding me right?
Apparently when the house went into foreclosure someone messed up the deed. This problem doesn't even involve us...but we are the only ones it directly effects.
I've made utility deposits, scheduled deliveries, changed our mail....only for it not to be happening tomorrow. Or Friday, or anytime next week. It's now being put off for another TWO weeks because of other things we have planned.
Honestly, this sucks. I feel like we are being taken advantage of and there is nothing we can do about it. My advice to you? Stay away from foreclosures.
Ugh.

I know foreclosures are hard to deal with. I was an REO agent in Florida for 4 years and worked directly for the banks. I know the banks can be difficult to work with, especially because whatever they say, goes. Keep your head up! It will close soon enough and then you can put that awesome green table you painted in your new kitchen.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry! It is stressful enough going through this as a non foreclosure, I cannot imagine the extra headaches you all have. Before you know it you will be basking in that gorgeous house of yours, don't worry, it will happen soon! My fingers are crossed for you.
ReplyDeleteDid I mention we close the day we move in? My husband thought getting to NC from VIRGINIA by 4pm on a Monday would be no big deal... just an 8 hour drive without traffic and a puppy and a wife who has never driven that far on her own before. No big deal. Sigh.
Awe. I hope it gets closed soon.

Oh Girly I'm sorry you have to go through this. When we were looking to buy we had been warned to stay away from foreclosures because of situations like this. This house will be worth it thought. It will come....
ReplyDeleteBummer ... house buying is a big step but a great one. Once it's all said and done you'll just be able to enjoy the house. I'm a total pessimist by nature too ... Good luck with the rest of the house details!!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry you are having to deal with this... The same thing happened to us in NC too! But our agent at the time failed to tell us that the house was going into foreclosure and our closing date came & went with no one calling us or anything about it. We ended up backing out of the contract and asking for half of our "earnest money" ($500 we paid when the contract was agreed on).. They were reluctant to give it back, but I mentioned attorneys and lawsuit and they agreed! I hope you guys get your house situation figured out soon!
ReplyDeletethat sucks. i'm sorry hun :( i hope it gets fixed soon!!!
ReplyDeleteUgh, sorry to hear that you're hitting a road block! We signed a contract for a short sale and I'm not EVEN holding my breath.
ReplyDeleteugh that sucks!! :/
ReplyDeleteOh man, I'm sorry :(
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry :( That's awful! I hope they get things figured out soon!
