Three years and 40,000 miles ago we bought our first car. We paid $1300 for a 1995 Saturn. Not only was it the first car we bought together...but the first anything we bought together.
That car has been so good to us and has been a part of so many good memories! It has been in more states than most people I know! Let's take a trip down Saturn memory lane!
We bought our Saturn in February 2010.
In March 2010 it helped us move into our first apartment in Jacksonville, North Carolina.
We brought Miley home in the Saturn! She sat in Danny's lap the entire way home!
In 2010 we went to Ohio twice, South Carolina (Summerville & Myrtle Beach!) Busch Gardens in Virginia and multiple North Carolina day trips!
In 2011 it took us on our first real vacation to Disney World!
It brought us to Virginia to meet with my parents, West Virginia to pick up Kaleb twice, Virginia Beach, Asheville, NC and multiple winery road trips!
In 2012 it became Danny's "work car." A mirror fell off, a seat ripped, it got loud. But it was still a good car!
But the time has come to retire her. Over the weekend we purchased a 1997 Toyota Camry in fantastic condition. Here's to more fantastic memories and roadtrips!

Saturns are excellent cars that was my first. :) Love the new car by the way. :)
ReplyDeleteI love my Saturn - a 2004 Saturn Ion that I bought brand new in college. It has served me well for all these years, but I have the feeling I will be writing a similar post in a year or so.
ReplyDeleteHave fun car shopping!
RIP old car, welcome new!
ReplyDeleteI have a 1992 Corolla with 235k miles. We keep laughing at the fact that we put on cheap tires and get oil changes every 10k miles, because "it's going to die soon," and she just keeps going like the Energizer Bunny:-)
ReplyDeleteOne day, we will feel like the Flintstones when the bottom rusts out and we push her with our feet; but so far, she's never left us on the side of the road.
Oh, and the A/C is still iced-cold!!
